Southern Oregon has been my home for the greater part of my life. I find this school to be alluring my interest still because I can study under experienced and over qualified teachers that are her to inspire. Naturally I went to Southern Oregon University, and dove into my spiritual and artistic expressions through the lens science and business have to offer. The people this region attracts are diverse, cultured, passionate, and potent for those reasons so I find myself growing in a direction that is all-encompassing, and builds towards the life long career to cultivate, connect, and serve the vitality of the world.
I joined the Associated Students of Southern Oregon to change the system and help student populous at large, especially with topics regarding to the environment, sustainability, culture, and student morale. My hope has been to get involved in projects on campus that leaves a lasting impact on students and the biosphere that we all share. I find myself able to express more pride and passion for my day-to-day by being involved on campus. I hope to especially help see a few large projects involving sustainability on campus come to fruition before the academic year finishes.
In the past I’ve taken on an array of leadership roles in organic agriculture and livestock farms in the Rogue Valley. In addition, I’ve found a great deal of learning while working at a sustainability house called Campus Center for Appropriate Technology, at Humboldt State University. I feel travel has also been a vital leadership experience and can attest too many of my greater understandings from those adventures. In the past, I’ve lead rock climbing and wandering adventures in the woodland fern and countries abroad.
Currently I’m at this institution to cultivate my twenties by double majoring in business management and field biology. I plan to bring natural systems, designs and ways of thinking into business to help push the world towards sustainability ideologies set by the Earth. Additionally, I plan to minor in environmental science and earn a Sustainability Leadership Certificate from the business department. Outside of school I try to live seasonally with odd jobs, festival type of events, frolicking with good company, and anything outdoors in the elements. I keep grounded by scuba diving, rock climbing, hiking, biking, traveling, and most recently paragliding. I’ve always found my center by rooting my goals and vision through a Taoist lens, and extending growth through connecting with people, community, and the natural world. I hope to empower by synergizing with the divine symbiotic connections that the diversity and biodiversity of the world has to offer.
