Course Equivalencies & General Education Transfer Guides

Note: Some students who were admitted and attended in Fall 2005 may use the 2005 Transfer Guides. Consult your academic advisor before using the 2005 guides.

This information serves as a guideline. If you have any questions regarding course equivalencies, please contact the Office of Admissions. Transfer advising for prospective students is available in the Office of Academic Support Programs at 541-552-6213.


Articulation Agreements
Students who successfully complete all designated courses in a SOU articulation agreement will have met SOU's lower-division general education requirements, be eligible for admission to their selected major at SOU and upon admission, will be assured junior standing within their selected major.


Transfer Equivalency Petition Form
Students: Use this form to petition faculty to equate your transfer courses with SOU courses. Present both pages of the form to faculty. Be sure to check the Transfer Evaluation Web Page to make sure your courses are not already equivalent.


Transferring from California? CSUGE or IGETC certification is accepted to satisfy Southern's lower division general education requirements.
