Campus Tours
There are opportunities for both Faculty and Students to aid in recruiting prospective students during Campus Tours:
Opportunities for Faculty
a. Faculty Appointments:
- As a component of their campus tour, many prospective students ask to speak with a faculty member in an academic area they are interested in
- This discussion is often a crucial part of their decision whether or not to attend SOU
- Speaking in-person with a prospective student is an excellent way to forge an individual relationship and help that student better understand what your department has to offer

b. Classroom Visits:
- Similar to Faculty Appointments, many prospective students ask to sit in on a class session as a component of their campus visit
- This is an easy and effective way to give a prospective student an enhanced appreciation for the academic style and interests of our faculty and students

Opportunities for Students
Campus Ambassadors:
- Admissions hires several student campus ambassadors each year to serve as tour guides
- This is a great and fun opportunity to have a positive influence on prospective students and gain valuable leadership and communication skills in the process
- Campus Ambassadors also participate in events such as Preview Programs, giving tours and helping with event management
