OHSU Nursing Program at Southern Oregon University
Students taking pre-requisites to enter the OHSU Nursing program in Ashland should apply for regular admission to SOU by completing our online admissions application and submitting required materials. Students directly admitted to the OHSU Nursing program in Ashland may take addtional coursework through SOU. To take SOU classes, these students have two options:
1. Apply for regular admission as an SOU student by completing our online admissions application and submitting required materials. Advantages to becoming a regular admitted student include:
- Eligible to complete an SOU major or minor.
- Earlier and easier registration for SOU classes.
- Access to SOU advising.
Things to consider for being admitted to SOU:
- Longer application processing time.
- Subject to SOU admission requirements and associated fees: application and matriculation fee, must submit all prior college official transcripts, and mandatory SOU academic advising.
2. Apply as a Non-Admitted student by completing our online application. Advantages to becoming a Non-Admitted student include:
- Shorter application processing time.
- Eligible to register for up to 8 SOU credits per term.
- Not subject to SOU admission requirements and associated fees.
Things to consider for being a Non-admitted student at SOU;
- Not eligible for an SOU major or minor.
- Registration limitations: later registration times and instructor approval needed for classes with pre-requisites.
