Conditional Admission

Undergraduate Students and Conditional Admission

SOU offers conditional admission to undergraduate and second bachelor degree students. Conditional admission means the student meets all requirements except for English proficiency. Students should mark their intent to enroll in the Intensive English Program on their application.

Students must meet all other admissions requirements. Please see the links to the left to determine the required documents. 

Graduate Students and Conditional Admission

Graduate students may be offered conditional admission at the discretion of the graduate program. Students must complete all graduate program specific requirements, (including but not limited to: programmatic applications, letters of recommedation, statement of purpose, and essays) before being considered for conditional admission. Not all graduate programs will offer conditional admission.

Conditional admission decisions for graduate programs can take up to 6 weeks.

Intensive English Program and Conditional Admission

SOU does not offer admission to the Intensive English Program (IEP) only. Students must be otherwise admissible to the University and must list a valid SOU major that they wish to pursue after they complete IEP.
