Southern Oregon University is a liberal arts school. A liberal arts education is designed to create a cohesive foundation of subjects and skills on which you can build. During your freshman year, you begin to fulfill general education requirements which integrate course work spanning the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences. This exploration of disciplines often leads to the discovery of the subject you wish to specialize in -- your major.
At Southern Oregon University you can tailor your major to your interests. You can choose from 36 major fields, 47 minors and 19 pre-professional areas or combine several subjects into an interdisciplinary degree.
