Don Weingust
The author of the Routledge text Acting from Shakespeare’s First Folio: Theory, Text, and Performance. Don is very active professionally; writing, giving papers at conferences, organizing seminars (most notably for the Shakespeare Association of America), and conducting research. He is the founding chair of the Shakespearean Performance Research Group of the American Society for Theatre Research. A trained director, he is an Equity actor and has worked off-Broadway and with regional repertory theatres such as the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Arizona Theatre Company. He came to southern Oregon from Tufts University, where he was the resident Shakespearean in the Department of Drama. Don holds a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.
In 2009 Don joined G. Valmont Thomas to teach the elective course Bring Shakespeare to Life: Text to Performance.
