G. Valmont Thomas
G. Valmont Thomas has been an actor with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival since 1998. In 2009, he plays "La Few" in All's Well That Ends Well and "the Praise Singer" in Death and the King's Horseman. Former artistic director of Seattle's G.A.P. Theatre, G. Val was a board member of Washington Alliance for Theatre Education and Theatre Puget Sound. G. Val served as assistant professor of acting and directing at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He directed for OSF's Staged Reading Series, Ashland New Plays Festival, New City Theatre, The Bathhouse Theatre, Seattle Children's Festival, and Ashland High School. He held a popular series of acting workshops at ArtAttack Theatre and is a sought-after audition coach. He holds a BA from Western Washington University and an MFA in directing for the theatre from Penn State University.
G Val teaches script analysis for the Master of Theatre Studies. In addition, he will join Don Weingust to teach the a la carte course Bring Shakespeare to Life: Text to Performance. In 2008 G. Val joined Jim Edmondson to teach the a la carte course The Director and the Rehearsal Process.
