Theatre Teacher Training Faculty

Faculty include nationally and internationally-known artists, including design and technical faculty from the SOU Department of Theatre Arts and professionals from the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Core faculty include: Deborah Rosenberg, SOU Costume Designer; Ezra Severin, SOU assistant professor and Technical Director; Eric Levin, SOU Director of theatre education; Jane Hickinbotham, SOU staff technician and Manager; Bill Bloodgood, freelance scenic designer; Kim Carbone, and Jonathan Spencer New York City freelance sound and lighting designers; and Michael Hume, director and OSF actor.

In addition, professionals from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and elsewhere join us as guest speakers on a wide variety of applied theatre. 2013 guest faculty include Annette Julien, OSF props artisan; and Susan Mcmillan, University of California, Santa Barbara instructor and free lance stage manager.

2013 elective course faculty include:  Sean O'Skea, SOU Scenic Designer; John Toppo, OSF actor & Resident Fight Director and Michael Magg, OSF Lighting and Projection Department Manager.

Past elective course faculty has included: Lynn Jeffries, puppeteer and puppet, scenic and costume designer; Paul Zaloom, puppeteer, film maker, actor, and performance artist; Chris Duval, University of Idaho movement, voice and stage combat Assistant Professor; Penny Metropolis, free lance theatre director, Maggie MacClellan, SOU acting and movement faculty, Chris Sackett, SOU lighting faculty; Michael Maag, OSF Lighting Dept Manager and Automated Lighting Programmer; and Stuart Cotts, OSF Theatre Technology Engineer; Don Weingust, SOU Shakespeare Studies Director; James Edmondson, OSF associate artist; G Val Thomas, Director and OSF actor; Kerri Robbins, Oregon Cabaret Theatre and freelance costume designer; Jim Giancarlo, Artistic Director of Oregon Cabaret Theatre and SOU musical theatre faculty; David Kelly, OSF actor and SOU adjunct faculty; Lue Douthit, OSF director of literary development and dramaturgy; and Dennis Smith, SOU acting faculty.
