U. Jonathan Toppo
Jonathan is the Resident Fight Director for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and an Associate Certified Instructor Dueling Arts International. He is also a certified and recommended stage combatant with the British Society of Fight Directors. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in Aikido. Jonathan has been a professional actor for over 20 yrs. He received his BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut. After which he went on to study classical theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. During his tenure with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival he has performed in a myriad of roles such as Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dad in Distracted, Philippe Petit in UP, Irvin in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Taylor in Gibraltar, Hofbauer in The Visit, Menas in Antony and Cleopatra, Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Larry in Handler, Trinculo in The Tempest, Jason in Wit, Laertes in Hamlet, Aramis in The Three Musketeers, Zavel in Vilna's Got a Golem, Bernard in Death of a Salesman, Ralph Berger in Awake and Sing!, Andrew May in Pravda.
