Schedule for 2010 Summer Intensive

The summer residency portion of the program includes active discussion of production elements, from script analysis and design to stage management, as well as in-depth exploration of design and technical areas, hands-on development of design and production concepts and practical application of technical processes. Evenings are spent preparing class assignments, attending presentations and workshops, working on design and technical projects, and attending plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Plan to arrive on Friday, July 9, 2010 in order to attend the orientation meeting and welcome reception at 7:00 pm in the Theatre Building. Residence Hall check-in is 3:00-5:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday we will have fundamentals, advising, group sessions and special workshops. The daily schedule begins Monday morning July 12. The middle weekend, July 17-18, has some free time but includes required workshops.

On Saturday July 24 the main program concludes with a full day of structured lab sessions, advising, and an evening closing party. Residence Hall checkout is Sunday, July 25 at 10:00 am. You may choose to arrive a week earlier, July 4-9 or stay an additional week, July 25-30, to attend an la carte course.

There are activities and curriculum during the opening, middle and closing weekends. The weekend daily schedule is different, and varies with each day and cohort.
