Past Elective Course
Choregraphy for Musicals
July 22-27, 2012
Ashland, Oregon
Develop skills in both dance technique and choreographic composition with the goal of becoming more capable of choreographing a musical or of supervising a student or guest choreographer. Enjoy and challenge yourself with a mixture of an on-your feet dance warm-up, introduction to dance vocabulary and choreography, discussion forums, and resource surveys for inspiration and instructional tools. Afternoons and evenings will be spent experimenting with small groups of program-provided dancers and culminating in the creation of a musical number for the final project. Class will include a field trip to see a musical at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre.
