U-CAM: About Our Coaches

U-CAM coaches are from a variety of educational backgrounds, but all have a focus on student success. Each of our coaches is either currently a certified coach or is nearing completion of their certification.

Jennifer Jones-Pyszka

Jennifer Jones has focused on student success throughout her career in education. She has taught classes, developed curriculum and co-created programs for students, grades 9 through undergraduates, all designed to support personal and academic success. A lifetime resident of the Rogue Valley, Jennifer has worked for the Medford School District, Landmark College Summer Program, Southern Oregon University and other non-profit organizations.

As an Academic Coach, Jennifer’s strengths lie in her enthusiasm, her experience and her ability to connect with students in a nonjudgmental, honest and supportive manner. In her off time, Jennifer plays in the dirt (aka gardening), listens to music (loud), and chauffeurs her teenage daughters around to various sporting, musical and school events.

Alice Hisamoto, CPC

Alice Hisamoto is an experienced cross-cultural educator and certified professional coach, who is dedicated to providing supportive coaching and mentoring to bring out the best in students! She has taught, coached, mentored and facilitated workshops for over 20 years in the U.S. and overseas. In addition to her passion for coaching students with learning challenges, she enjoys ultra trail running, creative writing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Richard Vasey

Richard brings a diverse background of experiences in higher education to his job as an academic coach and mentor.  This includes jobs as an academic adviser and career coach, community college administrator, instructor, and trained facilitator.  He has a passion for working with students who "don't fit the mold" and helping them work toward achieve academic and personal success.  Richard is currently participating in training in the area of coaching students and adults with ADD/ADHD.  
As a recent transplant, Richard spends his spare time taking exploring and enjoying the amazing outdoors of southern Oregon with his family.  He also enjoys coaching high school basketball and supporting his four daughters in all of their different activities and interests.
