Disability Services for Students

Qualify for Services

Dear Student,

I understand that you are interested in possibly attending SOU. This is a great place, and we would be glad to have you join us! I am Director of Disability Services for Students. This is just one of the student support services offered here as part of the ACCESS Center. At SOU we definitely support the Americans With Disabilities Act and would do our best to accommodate you. Currently, there are over 300 students registered with DSS. Students are receiving accommodations for disabilities that include vision, hearing, traumatic brain injury, mobility, chronic health, psychological/psychiatric, ADD/ADHD and learning disabilities.

To the right are links that outline how services work here. Please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail or give me a call. If you do decide to come visit, call the number at the bottom of this page in advance to make sure that we can schedule an appointment time that works for you. I would enjoy spending time with you (and with your parents, if appropriate) discussing what DSS and Southern Oregon University have to offer!

Take care,

Theresa Lowrie
