Academic Advisors
Academic Support Programs and the Higher Education Center has staff of highly trained professional academic advisors who provide academic advising services to current and prospective students of Southern Oregon University. We primarily focus on students who are undeclared majors and new students who are transferring credit to SOU from another college or university.
The advising staff specializes in University Studies/General Education, BA/BS, and overall graduation requirements (major & minor requirements will be provided through your academic department). We instruct students on the use of the catalog and help students attain the skills and knowledge necessary to complete course scheduling and registration. Students are expected to become self-directed decision-makers and to familiarize themselves with SOU’s academic requirements and to monitor their own progress toward graduation.
Please feel free to contact us at our e-mails with a question or call to make an appointment at 541-552-6213 for appointments in Ashland or Medford. Medford Higher Education Center offers evening and Saturday hours.
Got a quick question, try live chat with an Advisor. If our staff are not online, please leave your email contact information in your message and we will get back to you by the next business day. For in-depth advising, please call 541-552-6213 to make an appointment.
