101 Colloquium

Perhaps our most nutritious meal, the Colloquium includes all major academic food groups and daily interaction with the cook. A must for diners who plan to finish other meals.

298 Introduction to Literary Studies

A course designed to educate the palate of the aspiring connoisseur. Comes with a guidebook of aesthetic terms and often features contemporary writing from our very own Westwind Review.

300 Introduction to Criticism & Theory

A house specialty, diners should leave this meal with their culinary horizons broadened and hunger for new dining experiences. Cooks don't often hear that "this course changed my life" but occasionally with this dish it happens.

107 Ancient World Literature

Experience classic dishes such as Gilgamesh, Aeschylus, and Homer, served with a piquant mixture of other ancient literature and culture such as the Ramanyana and the Descent of Inanna.

108 Medieval World Literature

A hearty helping of Beowulf, followed by a full course of Dante (warning: this dish is hot). A selection of work by and about women to complicate the mix, and finally, a devilishly spicy play by Marlowe for dessert.

109 Contemporary World Literature

Experience the best the world has to offer in this eclectic serving that varies from year to year. East African and South American dishes are often featured.

447 The Gothic
One of our most popular dishes. An uncanny mixture of embodiment, effluvia, and epistemology featuring food from the late 18th century to the present. Meats are always served rare.

381 US Literature to 1865

Experience the distinctively American mix of Native, African, Spanish, and European cuisine as these various culinary traditions influence one another.

481 US Novel: Romanticism & Realism

White whale is often the centerpiece of this meal, which may also include Stowe, Hawthorne, Chopin, Chesnutt, and Twain. The Soda Shop also serves James, although diners may find that they chew more than they bite off.

482 US Novel: Naturalism & Modernism

Begin with a manly portion of Norris, Crane, or London before moving on to the culturally complex flavors of Stein, Hurston, and Faulkner.

Mark Twain

Deceptively simple-looking, although fun to eat, this meal draws on the latest culinary techniques to present perennial favorites in dynamic new combinations.

Whitman and Dickinson

"By my life lumps!" as Walt would say, this promises to be a dining experience that runs the gamut from esoteric to camp.

Youth Culture

This course should bring new diners and their dishes to the table at a time when young people are finding themselves culturally marginalized and economically exploited.
