ONLINE Early Childhood Development Bachelor's Degree
The Bachelor's in Early Childhood Development is designed to be a degree completion. Students complete their general education and approved early childhood prerequisite courses at their local community college or online then transfer to SOU to complete the degree online. This flexible scheduling is in response to the need for this degree by professionals in the field of early childhood.
We are working collaboratively with regional community colleges to develop transfer agreements - these agreements assist students by assuring they take the necessary classes to transfer smoothly to into SOU's program.
We encourage students that are interested in this degree to contact us even if they are not in a program. We can evaluate your current transcripts at no cost and give you an idea of how best to move forward.

Welcome future early childhood educators!
Hi! Welcome to the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Program website! The ECD program at Southern Oregon University was the result of a truly collaborative effort between SOU and Rogue Community College (RCC) to support students who want to move on for their higher education degree (Bachelor's of Arts or Science) in the area of early childhood education. Based on this success, we have expanded the model to other community colleges in northern California and Oregon.
This program will provide a variety of career options for you to work with young children and their families. Just imagine, this program will help you become well qualified professional for opportunities such as preschool teacher, Head Start Program teacher, administrator, family advocate, early interventionist, educational assistant, as well as potential Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) students with a focus on K-3 teaching.
Our young children need you and your passion! If you enjoy working with young children and their families, this can be a great option for your future career!
All the best,
