Financial Aid Disbursement

• Any refund due to you will be processed through HigherOne, the company that provides the new SOU ID cards.
• This means that you no longer stand in line at the cashier windows for your refund.
• You must activate the new ID card and choose your refund method to avoid unnecessary delays in receiving a refund.
• Watch student e-mail for any updates.

• Cashiers in Churchill 150 can help you with card activation and answering your questions. We will help you problem solve in any way that we are able. All our other services will be available, including accepting payments, answering questions about your account, and processing short-term loans. Cashier windows are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Remember, to receive your aid you must be enrolled in the required hours. You can verify your hours through SISWeb.

   For financial aid purposes,

1. an undergraduate student is any student (a) formally admitted to a bachelor's degree program or any student (b) with a first bachelor's degree who is not formally admitted to a master's degree program.
2. a part-time undergraduate is enrolled in 6-11 hours.  (Note:  the Pell Grant is an exception to this definition)
3. a full-time undergraduate is enrolled in 12+ hours.
4. a part-time graduate student is (a) formally admitted to a master's degree program and (b) enrolled in 5-8 hours.
5. a full-time graduate student is (a) formally admitted to a master's degree program and (b) enrolled in 9+ hours.
