HOUSING
Due to the timing of this meeting, all of the dorms at San Francisco State University are closed in preparation for the beginning of fall semester. The Division has entered into an agreement with the following hotels to provide meeting housing at substantial discounts to their regular rates. Alternatively, we suggest the use of an internet search engine such as expedia.com or hotels.com to find the best rates for accomodations during the meeting. Please note that there are very few hotels in the vicinity of San Francisco State University. However, there are several boutique hotels in the vicinity of Golden Gate Park which may satisfactorially meet one's needs.

SPECIAL FOOD EVENTS
Division Banquet (18 August, Tuesday):
The Division Banquet will be held on the campus of San Francisco State University. Students in competition for presentation awards are invited to be guests of the Division and attend the banquet at no charger. If you are in this category, be sure to check the appropriate box at the top of the second page of the Advance Registration Form.
The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a hosted reception of fruit juices and soft drinks. Dinner will be served about 6:45 p.m. Following dinner will be the announcement of the student awards and then the Presidential Lecture, given this year by Dr. Anne Sturz, President of the Pacific Division and Associate Dean at the University of San Diego. The evening will conclude with a photograph of all of the award winners.
Three entrees have been chosen:
Vegetarian Moussaka Roasted eggplant layered with lentils, potatoes, and feta cheese, and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce and parmesan cheese, baked until golden brown and bubbling and served with an oregano and pine nut pilaf and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Shrimp Struedel Chardonnay Flaky phyllo dough wrapped around a mixture of pink shrimp, onions, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and herbs, baked until golden brown and served with a chardonnay cream sauce and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Prime Rib of Beef Prime rib of beef roasted coated with garlic and herb crust, slowly roasted to medium-rare, carved, served with a carbernet Jus, creamy horseradish sauce, a buttery mini popover, sour cream and chive mashed potatoes, and fresh seasonal vegetables.
All entrees are accompanied by a side salad, dinner rolls and butter, and dessert.
Be sure to select you favorite when filling out the advance registration form. Tickets may not be available on-site.
REFUNDS
Requests for refunds must be postmarked
or e-mailed no later than 15 July 2009. Requests
can be made via USPS or e-mail (aaaspd@sou.edu).
A handling fee of $10.00 will be applied. Refunds to credit
cards will incur an additional 3.5% fee on the amount of the
original charge to help cover the costs of the credit card fees assessed
to the Pacific Division.
