PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
This schedule is designed to
help people know when certain events will occur in order
to help in planning their travel. The timing of most events,
such as field trips, special dinners, etc., are unlikely
to change. However, the timing for certain sessions, such
as symposia, may change as the program develops. If your
travel plans depend on the timing of a particular presentation
or symposium, it is imperative that you contact the AAASPD

Monday, 9 June

Sunday, 15 June
- Registration 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., main entry, James M. Taylor Commons.
- Traditional Hawaiian Blessing 4:00 p.m. JOHN K. JENNY will perform an Oli Aloha and welcoming chant and Pule (prayer) for the beginning of the meeting.

Tuesday, 17 June
- Field Trip: Kona Coffee Tour.
Departs at 8:00 a.m. from the James M. Taylor Commons (map).
- Field Trip: Pu`uhonua o Hanaunau National Historic Park. Departs at 8:00 a.m. from the James M. Taylor Commons (map). Arrive at least 30 minutes early to pack your own sack lunch.
- Field Trip: Kilauea Volcano. Departs at 7:30 a.m. from the James M. Taylor Commons (map). Arrive at least 30 minutes early to pack your own sack lunch. SORRY, THIS TRIP IS FULL.
- Field Trip: Mauna Kea Observatories and Stargazing. Leaves at 8:00 a.m. from the James M. Taylor Commons (map). Be sure to bring a warm jacket, as it will be cold at the top, as well as chilly at the 9,000 foot visitor's center. Don't forget money for lunch. No one will be allowed on this trip without a filled out and signed medical waiver. SORRY, THIS TRIP IS FULL.
- Field Trip: Reef Snorkeling. Departs at 8:00 a.m. from the James M. Taylor Commons (map). Rental masks and snorkels must have been arranged in advance (see Early Registration Form).
- Evening Public Lecture 7:00 p.m., HPA Gates Performing Arts Center: A Vision for a More Self-reliant and Sustainable Food Future, NANCY REDFEATHER (Hawai’i Island Food Summit Coordinator and School Garden Network Coordinator, The Kohala Center, Kamuela, HI) and WILLIAM B.N.
